Heroin found in deputy’s vehicle | The Times Leader, Wilkes-Barre, PA: "Luzerne County Sheriff John Gilligan said a small amount of suspected heroin was found in a deputy’s transport vehicle Wednesday morning, and the matter is being investigated by Wilkes-Barre police.
Gilligan said he received a call while he was in Hazleton on Wednesday morning, and he directed Chief County Detective Michael Dessoye to investigate. Dessoye recommended the matter be turned over to city police to avoid any conflict of interest.
“The drugs were found in the back seat passenger side of a marked sheriff’s department vehicle,” Gilligan said. “The report I received from my department indicates that the substance found is suspected to be heroin.”"
