Jesse L. Hicks IV,Katreena L. Latimore Both had taken fatal doses

Jesse L. Hicks IV, 19, of Lakeview, and Katreena L. Latimore, 17, of McGuffey, were found inside 108 E. Ohio St., Apt. B, according to Auglaize County Coroner Dr. Thomas Freytag.Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon said the teens were found just before 9 a.m. Feb. 16 by the man renting the apartment. David Poe made the discovery after he arrived home from work. Both had taken fatal doses of the drug.“We are now looking at whether multiple drugs were involved, whether there was something in the heroin,” Freytag said. “Throughout the state, coroners are seeing a lot more multiple drug overdoses. We’ve always had heroin overdoses. But now we’re seeing mixtures of heroin with other drugs. It’s often spiked or mixed with something to make it more potent, which makes it more lethal.”Freytag said numerous deaths during the past two years in Auglaize, Hardin and Logan counties have striking similarities.
“Right now, it’s important to reanalyze these deaths,” Freytag said. “It’s ironic there are this many.”Nothing indicated they’d been murdered or they’d taken their own lives, he said.“There was no appearance of foul play or a struggle,” Solomon said shortly after they began investigating. “No signs of force, nothing on the bodies to indicate any signs of a struggle or force.”However, drugs were suspected early on.“A lot of times, they are mixing it with prescription drugs, like Vicodin, oxycodone, Xanax and other drugs,” Freytag said. “People are getting multiple prescriptions or buying them on the street. … We are starting to keep track of these deaths statewide.”Latimore was a senior at Upper Scioto Valley High School in McGuffey
