Alleged cocaine ring operating in Kings Cross

Strike Force Mildura was set up in June after police received information about an alleged cocaine ring operating in Kings Cross, the inner-city and eastern suburbs.
The operation had disrupted the flow of around $25,000 worth of the drug into the city each week, police said.Detectives today laid extra charges against two men arrested on Friday at Coogee.A 24-year-old Dover Heights man is facing 21 additional charges - 17 counts of supply cocaine, two counts of supply cocaine more than an indictable quantity, one count of knowingly deal in the proceeds of crime and one count of participate in a criminal group.He was already facing charges of supplying a prohibited drug, two counts of possessing a prohibited drug, dealing in the proceeds of crime and possessing a prohibited weapon.A search warrant executed at a Dover Heights home on Friday allegedly uncovered cocaine, drug-related equipment and a Taser stun gun.The man remains in custody and is expected to appear at Central Local Court tomorrow.A 23-year-old Darling Point man has been charged with four extra counts of knowingly take part in the supply of cocaine, bringing the charges against him to five.He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Waverley Local Court on October 29.Strike Force Mildura investigators have made a string of arrests over the alleged syndicate.A 25-year-old Alexandria man yesterday was arrested at Waverley and charged with 13 counts of supplying a prohibited drug, supplying cocaine on an ongoing basis and participating in a criminal group.
He appeared in Central Local Court today.A 21-year old Rose Bay man was arrested at Bondi yesterday and charged with offences including supplying a prohibited drug on an ongoing basis, participating in a criminal group and traffic-related offences.
He appeared at Waverley Local Court today.A 27-year-old Bondi man who was arrested on Friday is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on November 25 while a 39-year-old Drummoyne man arrested on October 2 is due to face Burwood Local Court on October 23.Strike Force Mildura comprises police from the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad's Target Action Group.The squad's acting commander, Detective Acting Superintendent Steven Raines, said police were dedicated to identifying crime groups and putting them before the courts."Investigations by Strike Force Mildura officers are continuing and further arrests and charges are expected," he said.
